Masha V. Petrova, Ph.D.
Dr. Masha Petrova is the founder and CEO of MVP Modeling Solutions - a company dedicated to developing multi-media education products for science and engineering fields. Some of MVP’s clients include Shell Global, American Chemical Society (ACS) and RedGate Software.
Dr. Petrova received her Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego where she conducted research in chemical kinetics with Forman A. Williams, a pioneer in the field of combustion and the author of Combustion Theory book. After receiving her doctorate, she went to work in industry as a development engineer, working on the development of CHEMKIN chemical-kinetic software package. She then transitioned from the research and development group to sales and marketing, where she was the go-to technical person for the company’s customers and distributors, as well as the manager of the company’s education initiatives
She has created and taught courses on the computer modeling and simulation and trained professionals all over the globe, including the USA, Canada, China, Japan and Germany. She has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and has presented technical talks at conferences such as International Symposium on Combustion, ASME Turbo Expo, and AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit. She has served on a National Science Foundation Review Panel on Materials and Combustion.
She is a member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Franklin Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting education and innovation in America’s technology and science fields. She was a featured speaker for the ACS Speaker Service and an official instructor for the American Chemical Society courses. Her latest ACS on-line courses On-line courses include Essentials of Chemical-Kinetics and Statistical Analysis of Laboratory Data . She has been a contributing author for the Product Design and Development on-line magazine and for the Simple-Talk magazine for IT professionals.
